San Antonio Spurs guard Lonnie Walker IV will miss the remainder of summer league after suffering a sprained right ankle during Thursday’s 83-75 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.
According to ESPN.com’s Michael C. Wright, the injury is “nothing major” and the Spurs are simply being cautious.
San Antonio only has a consolation game remaining in Vegas following Thursday’s loss in the single-elimination bracket.
Walker finished Thursday’s contest with five points on 2-of-9 shooting after averaging 13.7 points on 36 percent shooting from the field over his first three games in Sin City.
With Tony Parker and Kyle Anderson both out of the picture and Kawhi Leonard in the midst of a stalemate with the Spurs front office, Walker could play a prominent role off the bench alongside fellow wings Danny Green, Manu Ginobili and Marco Belinelli as a rookie.
