Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton said Tuesday he isn’t dwelling on promising forward Julius Randle’s departure from the team.
According to The Athletic’s Bill Oram, Walton said while it was “tough” to see Randle go, he is focused on looking ahead:
“Julius is in a good spot in New Orleans, and I’m going to be rooting for him to do great and accomplish everything that he wants to. But now that he’s gone, I’m not up at night wondering what could have been in our relationship. He moved. You’ve got your new roster, and you start spending time what you can do with that.”
After the Lakers renounced his rights, Randle signed a two-year, $18 million deal with the New Orleans Pelicans.
