Delhi and Kolkata are two of the most in-form teams early in this year’s IPL, and fans likely can’t wait to see the two go head-to-head on Monday.

Both teams have won their last two matches, with Delhi in particular impressing in lopsided wins over Rising Pune Supergiant and Kings XI Punjab.

Per Broken Cricket, even their opening loss against Royal Challengers Bangalore was close:

Daredevils are balanced throughout the squad and have formidable depth in their lineup. Even if the team loses batsmen early, the players further down the order can come up big at the death.

Kolkata do most of their damage at the top of the order, where the likes of Gautam Gambhir, Robin Uthappa, Manish Pandey and Yusuf Pathan stand out. Even star bowler Sunil Narine has gotten in on the act of late, impressing in the win over Kings XI Punjab.

The West Indies spinner will be a key contributor with the ball, especially in the death overs, where so many T20 matches are won.

Monday’s other match will be between Kings XI and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Both teams sit roughly in the middle of the standings but need to find momentum, having lost their last match. Delhi blew Punjab out of the water, while Hyderabad failed in the chase against Kolkata.

The defending champions are led by star bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ashish Nehra, but consistency has been an issue so far. With the bat, David Warner, Moises Henriques and Shikhar Dhawan have flashed their talent, but once again, consistency has been lacking.

Kings XI aren’t nearly as explosive as in past years, with Eoin Morgan, David Miller and Glenn Maxwell the batsmen responsible for driving up the total. If one or two lose their wicket before they’re capable of doing so, Punjab rarely have a back-up plan.

The players remain confident and excited moving forward, however:

If Punjab’s top performers find their form, this team is capable of making the play-offs. Winning on the road is never easy, and grabbing points in Hyderabad would be a major boost for the visitors.
