Neither Gujarat Lions nor Royal Challengers Bangalore have made a good start to the 2017 IPL. Both have just a single win under their belts and they are the bottom two teams in the standings.

As a result, Tuesday’s match between the two sides at Rajkot’s Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium should be a very intense encounter.

The Lions and Royal Challengers will both be desperate to get more points on the board and move up the table.

The batting power set to be on show is stunning. Gujarat’s XI could boast such big-hitters as Dwayne Smith, Brendon McCullum, Suresh Raina and Aaron Finch, while RCB’s unit includes Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Shane Watson.

The upshot of such batting talent on both sides is likely to be a high-scoring encounter in Rajkot. As such, bowling efficiency will be vital.

In Australian Andrew Tye—who has already taken a hat-trick at IPL 2017—Gujarat have an excellent strike bowler.

However, per Firstpost’s Peter Miller, the lack of any decent support is a major worry:

Bangalore have a better attack that includes Adam Milne, Samuel Badree, Sreenath Aravind, Pawan Negi and all-rounder Watson.

On that basis, with RCB looking in better shape to restrict Gujarat’s batting and take advantage of their opponents’ lack of depth in the bowling department, it should be a victory for Kohli’s side on Tuesday.
